AMCFU provides assistance to displaced orphans in Ukraine
Nearly three months after the Russian offensive in Ukraine, more than a third of the country’s population has had to leave their homes to escape the fighting, bombings, or occupation
Children are often the first victims of war. According to UNICEF data, 972 Ukrainian children were killed in the first six months following the Russian offensive, and five children die every day because of the conflict.
In addition to this heavy toll, many children suffer from numerous traumas: exposure to violence, the death of family members, separation from their parents, displacement to escape dangerous areas, school closures, and relentless bombings. Since the start of the war, more than 5,000 children have become orphans, with 1,000 losing both parents.
In response to this situation, the Aide Médicale et Caritative France-Ukraine (AMC France-Ukraine) association is committed to supporting the children who are victims of the war.
In addition to its support for pediatric hospitals and neonatal services, AMC France-Ukraine is actively involved in orphanages and boarding schools for children with disabilities, providing them with assistance tailored to their specific needs.
Our goal is to ensure a better future for these children by providing them with medical care, psychological support, and the resources necessary to overcome the traumas of war.
Every action, every donation, and every partnership helps us build a safer and more stable environment for the young generations of Ukraine.
Concrete Actions for Children:
In collaboration with a team of Ukrainian scouts—Plast ‘Spartanky’—the association has been financially supporting summer camps for orphaned children or those whose parents have been affected by the war since July 2015.
These camps allow children to rejuvenate, engage in recreational activities, and form social bonds.
The summer camps take place in the Carpathians, a mountain range in western Ukraine, and host between 19 and 50 Ukrainian children whose fathers have been killed, injured, or are risking their lives in the war in the east of the country.
Partially funded by AMC France-Ukraine, these camps are organized by Ukrainian scouts and volunteers. The association covers the expenses related to the children’s stay, including meals, transportation, and souvenirs.
The children attending these camps also receive psychological support to help them overcome the traumas of war. They return home with gifts, and more importantly, with warmth in their hearts, feeling that they have not been forgotten.
AMC France-Ukraine works closely with Ukrainian schools and hospitals to improve the living conditions and care for children.
We have also organized charity concerts to raise funds:
– Piano recital on May 4, 2015, at Salle Cortot, for the benefit of war orphans in Ukraine.
– Classical music concert on May 30, 2015, for the benefit of children in Ukraine, in partnership with the Embassy of Azerbaijan.
– Concert “UKRAINE: Talents for the Future” on June 26, 2015, in partnership with the Maison de l’Ukraine in France and the Ukrainian Embassy.
– Charity concert on March 6, 2018, at the Mairie of the 15th arrondissement of Paris, to support our project to help orphans of the Russian war against Ukraine. The money raised contributed to the organization of an educational summer camp for orphans in June 2018 in the Lviv region.
These initiatives demonstrate our commitment to providing continuous and valuable support to children affected by the war in Ukraine.
Since 2014, AMCFU has been tirelessly providing medical and humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian population, particularly in regions heavily affected by the war. We strive to improve living conditions and deliver essential assistance to the most vulnerable groups.
AMCFU sends ambulances, specialized medical equipment, and emergency care supplies, as well as European-standard medications, in collaboration with paramedics and doctors from France and Ukraine. The aid is distributed to hospitals with the most urgent needs.
