Helping Ukrainian Children – SPRING 2023

Children are often the first victims of war.

According to UNICEF data, 972 Ukrainian children were killed in the first six months following the general Russian offensive alone, and five children die every day because of the conflict.

Added to this heavy toll are numerous traumas linked to exposure to scenes of violence, deaths in the family or separation from their parents, leaving their homes to flee dangerous areas, school closures and incessant bombings.

Thus, since the start of the massive war, more than 5,000 children have become orphans; among them, 1,000 have lost both parents.

This is why, in addition to supporting pediatric hospitals and neonatology departments, AMC France-Ukraine is present with child victims of war by working in favor of orphanages and boarding schools for children with disabilities.

A new aid operation was made possible thanks to the donation of 66 pallets of new clothing by the company Haddad Brands Europe.

Nearly 8,000 sets of clothing will be distributed to the families of military doctors from Mariupol who became prisoners of war in April 2022, families of killed soldiers, many of whom have young children, and families of missing persons.
