Since 2014, when Russia first invaded eastern Ukraine, Aide Médicale et Caritative France-Ukraine has been providing aid to the populations severely affected by the war. This effort relies on a strong network established with Ukrainian administrations, regional councils, municipalities, and healthcare institutions. In this bulletin, you can learn about some of the cooperations we have implemented to help Ukraine.
The Dnipro region (Dnipropetrovsk oblast) is regularly bombarded and plays a strategic role in the care of the wounded and the reception of internally displaced persons. Since 2014, we have been providing assistance to the medical and social institutions of this region to organize care for the wounded and displaced persons. From 2016 to 2018, we implemented a comprehensive aid program for the region’s medical and social structures in collaboration with the Dnipro regional administration. Since 2022, we have resumed our aid deliveries, as the region is directly affected by the war and requires humanitarian support.
Our ongoing projects for this region:
– Ensuring access to electricity: Provision of industrial generators to hospitals, orphanages, and elderly care homes (EHPADs) to guarantee a constant electricity supply (20 beneficiary institutions).
– Restoring access to drinking water: Developing solutions for communities that no longer have access to drinking water due to the Kakhovka dam explosion and bombings.
– Provision of medical equipment and medications.
Newsflash: On July 25, 2023, five generators (165 kVa, two units of 125 kVa, and two units of 70 kVa) were delivered to three orphanages and two psycho-neurological boarding schools in the Dnipro region.
