The war in Ukraine has triggered an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
Over 8 million people have fled the country, most of whom are women and children. More than 5.4 million people are displaced within the country.
Humanitarian needs are immense, particularly in terms of food, clean water, healthcare, and education.
Humanitarian organizations are working tirelessly to meet these needs, but they face numerous challenges, including gaining access to conflict-affected areas.
Ambulances for Emergency Medicine, Wounded Evacuation, and Humanitarian Demining: Since February 2022, 140 vehicles have been delivered to Ukraine, focusing on the regions most affected by the fighting, particularly in the south and east of the country.
Support for Medical Training: In 2022, the association provided over 11,800 first aid kits to individuals trained in tactical medicine in Ukraine. In 2023, we acquired and shipped medical training equipment to enhance the skills of medical personnel in war situations. We also participated in the opening of the Emergency Medicine Training Center in Lviv.
Orthopedic Internal and External Fixators: Fixators valued at €58,000 have already been distributed to Ukrainian hospitals, contributing to the treatment of fractures and other orthopedic injuries.
Neonatal Tables: Over 50 pieces of equipment are currently being provided to Ukrainian maternity wards to save lives and improve the care of newborns.
Restoring Access to Drinking Water in Disaster Areas: Three water towers have been installed in the Kharkiv region, and three filtration systems have been deployed on wells in Marganets (Dnipro region), drilled in residential areas. Three more mobile systems will be delivered shortly.
