Strengthening cooperation with Tulipe – Spring 2023
Daryna TokmachovaSince the widespread invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the Tulipe association, a pharmaceutical distributor with a humanitarian vocation, has been an essential partner of AMC France-Ukraine in the field of sending medicines, equipment and medical consumables to Ukraine. A coordination center, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Council of Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine, our association and hospital network managers, has been set up to facilitate this cooperation.
Thus, needs are regularly reported to Tulipe, which is responsible for finding the medicines and medical equipment to meet them. Then, AMC France-Ukraine organizes a convoy in compliance with technical instructions and conservation standards (chartering of refrigerated trucks and vans to maintain the necessary temperatures, suitable warehouses for storing medicines, etc.). These convoys benefit from secure logistics to ensure the delivery of the equipment to the final beneficiary.
Thanks to this cooperation, we were able to send 12 semi-trailer trucks of medicines and medical products to Ukraine, such as antibiotics, analgesics, hormones, anesthetics, antidotes, cardiovascular drugs, heparins, gastric protectors, minor surgery, ventilation, monitoring and perfusion equipment. Currently, our joint work focuses on products to support the efforts of cancer specialists and emergency and disaster medicine teams operating in disaster-stricken territories.
We were therefore particularly pleased and honored to be invited to testify about this collaboration with Tulipe during the round table “Ukraine: intervening effectively in a country at war”, which took place on January 31, 2023, as part of the conference “Tulipe: 40 years of health emergencies in the world”.
