Two water filtration stations for the Zaporizhzhya region – spring 2024

Two water filtration stations for the Zaporizhzhya region

Following an urgent request from the DSNS and after a feasibility study, we financed the installation of two water filtration systems for the cities of Orikhiv and Gulyai Polye. These localities, close to the demarcation line, are suffering greatly from the bombings that have damaged 90% of their infrastructure. Without water, electricity or heating for two years, the population still living there is mainly elderly.
Orikhiv: Pre-war population: 14,100 inhabitants. Current population: approximately 1,500 inhabitants.
Gulyai Polye: Pre-war population: 13,446 inhabitants. Current population: approximately 1,200 inhabitants.

The DSNS units present in these cities distribute technical water to the population from boreholes. After studies conducted jointly with the DSNS and equipment suppliers and a field mission, two modular reverse osmosis plants with water pre-filtration, each with a capacity of 1m3/h, were ordered, with components and filter elements for one year. They should provide drinking water before the summer heat arrives.

The family of Jean-Philippe and Françoise Gault financed the entire cost of purchasing and installing the filtration plant in Orikhiv. This couple from the Bordeaux region regularly supports our actions; we thank them for their generosity towards Ukraine.
